More Moss, More Focus
The moss clumps clump together really well and is helping frame the scene similar to my initial concept. They do well when they are scaled large and small, and retain their fine textured details.
As I continue to replace the blockout elements of the environment, I have decided to make the chase scene where the bird chases the player a bit shorter. I originally timed out the run to be around 2 minutes of the player runs directly to the rockpile. I no longer think the chase scene has to be 2 minutes. Below you can see a view of the layout. The spawning pool area where the water and moss clumps are is the starting area. I have a log the player must roll under along the way. The purple blockout area where the player climbs will be replaced with rocks, the yellow blocks represent tall environment elements, where I am thinking tall plants, grasses, bushes etc. will be appropriate, and the red block represents the end point of the chase scene, where a rock pile will be where the player hides from the bird.
